“Good Practices” of Policies of Social Cohesion in the quarters of the Pilot Plan of Quarters

During the year 2011 and part of 2012, the “Pilot Plan in the quarters” has been opened; an initiative of the Department of Social welfare and Family and the Department of Employment and Social security, with the support of the European Fund for the investigation. The Plan has been carried out in quarters of Badalona, Hospitalet de Llobregat, Salt, Terrassa and El Vendrell.

The target of the pilot plan has been to strengthen the coexistence and the social cohesion in quarters with a high index of immigrant population. It is a program of promotion of the intercultural coexistence, which with a transverse character between different areas, institutions, entities… have worked for a dealing equality, the construction of spaces of sociability, the social rights and the community participation. Which means that the main actions carried out have faced especially the groups of young people and the perspective of genre.

On June 29th of 2012 a conference day was realized of “good practice” of policies of social cohesion in the quarters. The main targets of the day were: to know some of the projects that had been considered like “good practices”, analysing the results and its impact with regard to the social cohesion; to know the existing support networks in the quarters and the work realized transversely by the different services or entities of social, cultural or sports scope that operate in the area; and finally the possibility of replicating of the projects in other quarters and cities of Catalunya, trying to encourage the transmission of knowledge in the implementation of the policies of social cohesion.

AVALUEM takes charge of the explanation of the conference day of projects valued as “good practices” executed in the frame of the Pilot Plan of Quarters in the different implied municipalities.
