Advice on the Catalan cultural development cooperation

The Departament de Cultura i Mitjans de Comunicació of the Generalitat de Catalunya, through the Office of strategic planning, entrusts to Avaluem a study on cultural cooperation initiatives driven from our country by the public during the period 2006-2007, both the non-governmental sector in order to analyse the directionality and the percentage posed regarding the global of Catalan cooperation.

Catalonia does not have a long tradition of cultural development cooperation initiatives, and in this sense the present study should serve as the element of reflection which, on the basis of the analysis of what has been done so far, will allow progress in promoting new public policies that stimulate cultural Catalan development cooperation, to identify differential characteristics that make it unique, plural and socially inclusive.

The study consists, therefore, of two parts. On the one hand, a part oriented to systematize which is the present moment of the Catalan cultural development cooperation, which are the priority criteria, which is its impact and which deficits are observed. On the other, a part aimed to collect the evaluation criteria for the analysis of cultural cooperation by compilation of some leading European countries in cultural cooperation and development policies, and submit a proposal for criteria for identifying priority features of the cultural development from Catalunya cooperation.

The final motivation of the study is to update and strengthen the Catalan cultural cooperation development from Catalunya.
