Training in management of the project cycle in international cooperation by the Consell de Solidaritat i Cooperació de L'ajuntament de Sant Adrià de Besòs

Motivations of the workshop

Through these workshops, it is intended to explain to the participants, in a practical way, how to work in the planning of the projects with the logical framework approach to improve the quality and results. To emphasize the practical character of the course, we will do an analysis of the projects submitted to the Town Hall of Sant Adrià and basis for the granting of subsidies.

The participants are members of the Consell de Solidaritat i Cooperació of the Town Hall of Sant Adrià de Besòs, an organ of citizen participation shaped by local authorities and that coordinates the tasks related to the international cooperation together with the responsible Department.

Content of the workshop

The general content of the course is the management of the international cooperation project cycle -the different phases of life from a project with procedures of decision-making and clearly defined management activities. All the content will be presented in parallel to a hypothetical case that will help everyone to put in practice all that is arising during the course.

The course is divided in three sessions of four hours each one:

• Features of the logical framework approach (EML) and project identification. We will define the methodology for the planning of the projects or programs that allow improving the management of the entire project. Then, we will deal with the stages of project identification: the identification of beneficiaries and affected, problem analysis, analysis of the objectives and the analysis of alternatives.
• The stage of project formulation. We will talk about the matrix of planning, schedule and feasibility analysis.
• Analysis of projects presented to the Town Hall of Sant Adrià and the basis of the given subsidies. We will choose on of the projects and the planning matrix will be reviewed .
