Practical workshop on planning projects by the Consell de Pau i Solidaritat de Castelldefels

Motivations of the workshop

Understanding in a practical way - and with a concrete tool- how to work the planning of the projects with the logical framework approach to improve the quality and results. This practical training is aimed mainly to prepare projects for the call for cooperation of the Town Hall of Castelldefels -which has the same requirements as have the Fons Català de Cooperació pel Desenvolupament- or other calls.

The course participants are members of the Consell de Pau i Solidaritat of Castelldefels, a boy of citizens participation formed by local entities that coordinates the tasks of awareness towards peace, solidarity, international cooperation and human rights of the municipality. The Council collaborates on the annual programme and coordinates, with the Department of Peace and Solidarity, the solidarity activities of the year, also discussing the proposals of the members.

Content of the workshop

The general content of the course is the management of the international cooperation project cycle -the different phases of life from a project with procedures of decision-making and clearly defined management activities. All the content will be presented in parallel to a hypothetical case that will help everyone to put in practice all that is arising during the course.

The course is divided in three sessions of three hours each one:

• Features of the logical framework approach (EML) and project identification. We will define the methodology for the planning of the projects or programs that allow improving the management of the entire project. Then, we will deal with the stages of project identification: the identification of beneficiaries and affected, problem analysis, analysis of the objectives and the analysis of alternatives.
• The stage of project formulation. We will talk about the matrix of planning, schedule and feasibility analysis. At the end of the session we will make a comparison of the contents given during the course with the proposed form to present the projects in the Town Hall.
• At the last session, the project in the form of the Town Hall of Castelldefels will be built and we will resolve doubts that institutions may have in formulating their own project.
