Training in identification and formulation of projects with the methodology of approach of the Logical Framework in Igualada

Motivation of the workshop

Understanding in a practical way -and above all with a concrete tool- and work in the planning with the Logical Framework approach to improve the quality and results. This practical training aimed mainly to prepare projects for the call for cooperation of the Ajuntament d'Igualada -which has the same requirements as the ones of the Fons Català de Cooperació to the development— or other calls.

The participants are members of Igualada Solidària, a formed organ of participation constituted by local authorities of participation, which coordinates the tasks of awareness of peace, solidarity, international cooperation and human rights of the municipality.

Content of the workshop

The general content of the course is the management of the international cooperation project cycle -the different phases of life from a project with procedures of decision-making and clearly defined management activities. All the content will be presented in parallel to a hypothetical case that will help everyone to put in practice all that is arising during the course.

The course is divided in two sessions of two three each one, with the following content:

• Features of the Logical Framework approach (EML) and project identification. We will define the methodology for the planning of the projects or programs that allow improving the management of the entire project. Then, we will deal with the stages of project identification: the identification of beneficiaries and affected, problem analysis, analysis of the objectives and the analysis of alternatives.
• The stage of project formulation. We will talk about the matrix of planning, schedule and feasibility analysis. At the end of the session a comparison of the contents given during the course with the proposed form for presenting the projects to the City Council, will be done.
• At the last session the project in the form of the Ajuntament d'Igualada will be built and will resolve doubts that institutions may have in formulating their own project.
