Motivation of the workshop

The main objective of the workshops is to identify action strategies in the preferred metropolitan areas taking as starting point the characteristics of the municipal cooperation to the development of the municipalities that form the Mancomunitat de Municipis de l’AMB. During the workshops we want to analyse what are the territorial, social and economic potential of the municipalities of the Commonwealth and bring them to the municipalities of the South through cooperation, as well as reflect on how Metropolitan cooperation policy should be.

With the workshop is intended to teach in a practical way, how to work with the logical framework approach the project planning in order to improve the quality and results. The participants of the course are Councillors and municipal technicians of the international cooperation departments corresponding to each one of the municipalities of the Mancomunitat of municipalities de l’AMB.

Content of the workshop

The general content of the course is the management of the international cooperation project cycle -the different phases of life from a project with procedures of decision-making and clearly defined management activities. All the content will be presented in parallel to a hypothetical case that will help everyone to put in practice all that is arising during the course.

The course is divided in two sessions of two hours each one:

  • The International Metropolitan Cooperation potential. Reference is made both to the potential part of each one of the municipalities and of the metropolitan area as a whole.
  • Features of the logical framework approach (EML) and project identification. We will define the methodology for the planning of the projects or programs that allow improving the management of the entire project. Then, we will deal with the stages of project identification: the identification of beneficiaries and affected, problem analysis, analysis of the objectives and the analysis of alternatives.
  • The stage of project formulation. We will talk about the matrix of planning, schedule and feasibility analysis.
